Chelsea Stewart to Perform at the Carassauga Festival of Cultures in Mississauga

Rising star Chelsea Stewart is set to perform at this years’ Carassauga Festival of Cultures in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada on May 24th, 2015.  The young starlet, who just celebrated her birthday, plans to give her audience cover songs from the greats Bob Marley, Nana McLean, Billy Holiday, Etta James and her original compositions including songs from her EP The Only One.

Hosted by Carassauga and attended by 327,000 plus attendees, Festival of Cultures is the second largest multicultural festival of its kind in Canada which invites citizen groups from different countries of origin to promote public awareness, appreciation and enjoyment of their cultures and respect fellow Canadians of differing heritage.

The common thread that all cultures can relate to is music which is what Chelsea Stewart will provide via her performance.  Drawing on her classical training, and combining that with her Jamaican and Canadian culture, Chelsea plans to give the audience at Festival of Culture’s a musical experience they won’t soon forget.

About her upcoming performance, Chelsea said “Music is the one thing that unites all of us.  It’s the one thing that we can all understand no matter what language we speak, so I’m excited to perform for people of so many different backgrounds!”

Festival of Cultures has 72 cultures represented via 29 main Pavillions and 20 Caribbean Island Pavillions and has been a welcomed addition to the Mississauga social calendar for the past 30 years.

Receiving standing ovations at local jazz festivals and on the international stage in countries such as France, Hong Kong and Jamaica, Chelsea is no stranger to the stage and will definitely deliver a performance Mississauga will not soon forget.  Classically trained and claiming multiple genres of music as her own, Chelsea’s range moves between Classical and Jazz, R&B, Blues and Reggae.

Her debut single “Over You” is #1 on multiple charts in Canada, the US and the UK, and will be performed at Carassauga Festival of Cultures.  Her follow up single “Things You Do” will be released July, 2015.
