Jamaal Magloire’s Toronto Revellers Caribbean Carnival Costume and Band Launch
The Toronto Revellers masquerade band, participants in the annual Scotiabank Toronto Caribbean Carnival parade, will be launching their costumes on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Armenian Community Centre (45 Hallcrown Place) at 10:00pm, under this year’s theme: TORCH: The Spirit of the Games.
The Band Launch marks the beginning of the carnival season, and will feature an elaborate show, display of costumes, live music and entertainment from Revellers DJs DOC (105.5fm), Jason Chambers (G98.7fm), D’Ultimate Sting, and DJ Stylez, followed by an evening of dancing and costume registration. The night will be hosted by Giselle D’Wassi One, MC Brenton B, and Toronto Revellers Band Leader Jamaal Magloire.
“We are excited about revealing our TORCH costumes at the Band Launch,” said Magloire, who is an official ambassador of this summer’s PanAm Games in Toronto, in addition to his current role with the NBA’s Toronto Raptors as their Basketball Development Consultant & Community Ambassador. “Sporting events always bring a great energy to the communities where they take place—we’ve seen it with the Raptors, and we’ll see it tenfold this summer with the PanAm Games and the FIFA Women’s World cup. We love this energy, and we will translate it into what we believe are the best Revellers costumes yet!”
Members of the community are welcome to attend the band launch, and can purchase tickets for $25 online at; additional ticket vendors are listed on the band’s website at
“We are opening up our band and this experience to all members of Toronto’s community,” said Magloire. “The Band Launch is a great opportunity to come out and see the costumes, interact with the Revellers family, and help us to celebrate our Caribbean culture and one of the city’s most exciting traditions.”
Following the Band Launch, the Toronto Revellers will provide a full season of activities leading up to the Grand Parade day, Saturday, August 1. For more information and online costume registration, please visit
