Finalists announced for St. Kitts Soca Monarch carnival showdown
The St. Kitts Nevis National Carnival Committee has announced the finalists for one of carnival season’s top shows – the Soca Monarch Finals.
 
Hosted by Skeffington Rankin Fagan at the Sugar Mill on 9th December, the Soca Monarch Semi-Finals saw 20 artistes from The Cable Groovy and 15 artistes from the Carib Brewery Power performing, resulting in the selection of eight Groovy and seven Power competitors advancing to the Finals.
 
Finalists for the Groovy segment were Dejour Alexander (Dejour) who came in 1st place with a whopping 454 points followed by Casim Pemberton (Rucas HE) at 2nd place with 451 points, Shannakay Raymond (Shanna) at 3rd place with 436 points, Delison Roper (X-Man) and Jason Kyte (KT) tied with 433 points each, Shakier Challenger (Vybz) with 414 points, Marvin Lewis (Dj Woodis) with 403 points and Jason Mitcham (Pinnochio) with 402 points.
 
The seven finalist for the Power Segment were Anandee Richards (Lil Miss) at 1st place with 423 points, Jarez Liburd ft Jason Kyle (LAX ft KT) with 422 points, 3rd place Orin Roberts (Takeover) with 388 points, Shannakay Raymond (Shanna) with 387 points, Kyle Roberts (Daddy 2 Sec) with 372 points, Kanava Perreira (Foxy) with 367 points and Delison Roper (X-Man) with 356 points.
 
The time-keeper for the night was Ms. Altonia Springer, while the judges for the different segments were Azard Gumbs, Regines Warner, Shanwa Broadbelt, Dane Hamilton and Randy Taylor.
 
The St. Kitts-Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC) commended the soca artistes who registered and participated in the Sugar Mas 45 Soca Monarch Eliminations and Semi-Finals.
 
The Committee also extended thanks to sponsors of the Sugar Mas 45 Soca Monarch, “The Cable, and Carib Brewery St. Kitts-Nevis Ltd.
